2009 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
A cracking good wine for this price. Made to capture the fresh zinginess of these varieties with the strength of sav blanc and the lifted grassy lemony characters of semillon. It has a delightfully fresh mouth feel with a bright natural acid. Superb value wine. 86/100.

2008 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
Lively, spicy, passionfruit aromas, with the same sort of tropical punch to the palate. Great flavour length and good intensity of acidity to balance. 4 Stars

Highly Recommended- More grassy and nettle-like in the manner of most WA SSB blends, this wine has good palate weight and a racy acid finish. Excellent Value.

2008 Chardonnay
This is a simple, easy drinking, lightly oaked Chardonnay. Good subtle fruit flavours with dominant melon and light nutty characters. Crisp clean acid to finish. 85/100

An attractive young chardonnay in which the white peach characteristics are complemented by subtle toasted nuts overtones. It's comparatively tight and reserved on the palate but has good length, balance and texture. Needs a year or two.

2008 Sauvignon Blanc (Eastern States)
From Western Australia's Great Southern region this is a lively, youthful savvy released in tandem with a vintage cabernet merlot, shiraz and semillon sauvignon blanc, all created by winemaker Vanessa Carson. Aromas of tropical and passionfruit on the nose and palate, a racy acidic backbone and a crisp, clean finish. Drink it with grilled fish.

2008 Reserve Chardonnay
Impressive Chardonnay from Margaret River. Plenty of palate weight and underlying power but it's all beautifully controlled. Nutty creamy grapefruit nuances with a fine delicate acidity to sustain the finish. 89/100

2007 Cabernet Merlot
These value for money wines really benefit from excellent vintages like this. It's a medium to full-bodied wine offering stacks of lush ripe fruit delivered with fine ripe tannins, subtle oak and real palate length and poise. Great value. 87/100.

2006 Cabernet Merlot
From Western Australia and part of the high profile Ferngrove outfit. A handy quaffer with lashings of plum and black berry fruit, balanaced oak and full tannins. Pair with a hearty winter casserole.

2007 Shiraz
What a tremendous value wine this is. It's alive with savoury ripe plum splashed liberally with spices and some nice vanillin oak. The palate is rich and intense with powdery tannins and some nice oak treatment.

You should leap right into this terrific little quaffer from down at Frankland River. Made by the team at Ferngrove, this excellent vintage has delivered the goods.
